Tim Spalding is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and specialist knee surgeon with a distinguished career spanning over two decades at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. After beginning his medical career with the Royal Marines and Royal Navy, he further specialised in knee surgery with advanced training in Oxford and a fellowship in Toronto. Tim is a leader in sports-related knee injuries, meniscal transplantation, ACL reconstruction, and joint replacement, performing over 400 meniscal transplants—the most in the UK. He is also a co-founder of the International Meniscus Reconstruction Forum and served as the president of the international ACL Study Group. Now focused on private practice and research, Tim continues to shape the field of knee surgery through his innovative techniques, teaching, and international lecturing.
COVID-19: Update September 2020
OPEN for Consultations in person and for surgery
Though COVID-19 is still a threat I am fully back to clinics and operating. Surgery Waiting times are now short and require only 3 days of shielding as per NICE guidelines.
Clinics and operating take place at Nuffield Health Warwick, The New Foscote Hospital Banbury and Fortius Clinic London. All are very safe and fully comply with all guidelines for minimising infection risk.
Appointments can be by ZOOM but most are in person to enable comprehensive evaluation.
MRI imaging is performed at CMC Imaging, Knowle, at Nuffield Health Warwick and in various centres in London.
